If you need a nice polycarbonate case for your iPod, this is one. If you need a kickstand for your iPod, this has one. If you want something that shows off the iPod’s natural looks, this does that.

If you’re a brute who doesn’t read instructions, don’t get this: You’ll break it.

If you think this will protect your iPod from being dropped, don’t get this: You’ll break it.

If you think this is meant to be anything but a case to protect your iPod Touch while it’s in your pocket, don’t get this: You’ll break it.

This is a nice case, but it’s not meant to take abuse or stand against the hordes of Sparta. It’s a plastic case that snugly fits your iPod Touch, and requires a vinyl film (included) or Invisible Shield or Best Skins Ever to protect the screen. It’s not going to keep your iPod Touch from getting dinged up if you just toss it in your backpack or purse. It’s not going to completely defend your iPod Touch if you throw your keys and change into the same pocket. It’s just another layer of protection to keep your iPod Touch in good shape IF YOU TAKE CARE OF IT.

The kickstand is what sold me on this case over others. I can’t say I love the clear look (I much prefer the leather look of various Griffin models) but I cannot deny that the innovative kickstand design is VERY handy. No, you can’t have headphones on when you have the kickstand out and the iPod standing vertically– But that’s due to weird design on Apple’s part (why is the headphone jack on the bottom?) and not the makers of this case. HOWEVER, when you NEED this kickstand, i.e., when watching videos, you’ll note that the iPod is designed to be horizontal, thus the headphone jack is on the right side and well clear.

The kickstand requires a knowledge of how to close it, otherwise you’ll break it. Once you know what you’re doing, it feels pretty sturdy.

You can dock your iPod in this case, as long as you have a decent sized dock. I just used the next size up, and it’s no problem. Your mileage may vary.

The button-covers do make the buttons less sensitive. This can either be a blessing or an annoyance. It’s handy when the iPod’s in your pocket, as it’s not constantly waking up and going back to sleep… However, it’s annoying when you’re navigating and you’re used to being able to zip through things. Every once in a while, with this case, you may have to press the sleep/wake/home button TWICE to get it to register.

All in all, I like this case. I don’t love it. For me to love it, it would have to have the following changes:

* Leather over the polycarbonate, for a better look and feel (see Elan Form).
* Slightly more space around the screen, so you’re not hitting the bezel when scrolling.
* If not a leather covering, then a matte option. It’s too shiny otherwise!

Get this if you need a stand to go with your iPod Touch. This is great for frequent movie watchers or YouTube junkies. Not so good for people who prefer the vertical iPod stance to the horizontal one.

Excellent if you have the means and guts to do it yourself.

Before you buy:

You’ll need an iron soldering with a very very sharp, thin head
You’ll need solder
You’ll need a magnifing glass
You’ll need some skill

If you do have all this things or are accesible to you, then you can do it yourself (search youtube, how to replace an ipod nano battery, everything you need to know, and how to do it, is there)

Since i dont have all this, i took the battery to an electronic repair shop and they changed the battery in 20 minutes (its a very meticulous job). After this, my ipod came back to life again. Notice that i had to take the ipod + battery to 4 or 5 repair shops before i found one that could get the job done, some wouldn’t do it because they were afraid to mess my ipod up, some because they didn’t have the right tools.

I like mine a lot. It’s adjustable, so you can easily move it from your upper arm to your lower arm when you are swimming. It comes loose and re-tightens easily. I do different things in the pool and my lower arm is better for some things, so I move mine around.

It’s about 2 inches wide and made of some sort of soft black fabric and the part you insert into the loop folds back and stays in place with velcro. If you have a really large arm, it might not fit you, but you could still use it on your forearm.

My otterbox slipped right into the plastic attachment on the armband and that was that. It hasn’t come off since I put it on the armband and I use mine morning and evening! I can open the otterbox with it still attached to the band to take my Ipod in and out to charge. I LOVE MINE! (But the cords are annoying that run to your earphones from the otterbox. If you are getting this to swim–it would be nice if they could make those bluetooth because I want my nano, I want to be able to change music around at will in the pool).

All in all, I use this arm band every day with my nano and otterbox and it is one of my top five favorite gadgets of the decade.

Ohhh, I just saw sugar girl’s review and I so disagree. If you love to workout in the pool and you want access to your many playlists, the shuffle is not going to make you happy. Yes, it is smaller and if you are a serious lap swimmer, then youwill hate the cords that go to the otterbox, but the nano strapped to my arm is not a boom box. I LOVE MINE. I love it so much, if it broke, I would buy one every time it broke. I use it morning and evening for pool work-outs, some laps but also routines) and it makes two hours fly by… I mean, if you swim for 20 minutes, then fine—and everyone around me seems to stay exactly 20 minutes, but I’m there for hours and I LOVE MINE, even with the cords and they are a pain.

A woman yesterday told me how much she admired my workouts, and I tried to tell her she has no idea how much fun they are with the nano.

This case fits my generation 2 iPod touch perfect! Light pink looks better in person than in the pic. It has a magnet to close that is all internal so nothing gets scratched. I never have to take it out of the case because there is openings for your charger, headphones, volume and power switches. Stitching is perfect. The only negative I can say is that when I took it out of the package it had a stinky smell like a cleaner or something but it goes away in 2-3 days of airing it out. I love it so much I am ordering one for my daughters iPod. Great price and great quality!
